A gravel path and a petal carpet — flats, and a wrap for the shade.
We're getting married
Hana & Oliver
Petals on the path, lanterns in the trees, and a quiet kind of joy.
Our story
We met under the cherry trees at hanami with the same picnic blanket — two people, one pattern, a long argument about who copied whom. We are marrying under the same trees when they bloom again.
Hanami in the Japanese garden. Same blanket, same spot, and somebody had to move. Neither did.
First blossom of the season, six in the morning, before the garden opened. The gardener let us in.
Ceremony under the trees at 3pm, tea in the pavilion, dinner in the glasshouse after dark.
The celebration
A gravel path and a petal carpet — flats, and a wrap for the shade.
Matcha, sake, and mochi from Hana's aunt. Sit anywhere; wander everywhere.
Lanterns on at dusk. Shared plates, a short speech each, and dancing between the trees.
