We're getting married
Zoya & Faraz
Three nights, two families, one jewel box of a celebration.
#ZoyaAndFaraz2027Our story
Our families have shared Eid dinners for twenty years, so a mehndi night, a nikah and a walima were always going to be how we did this. Three nights, each with its own page here — and you will only see the ones you are invited to.
Officially at an Eid dinner in 2008. Properly, at the same table in 2019, arguing over the last gulab jamun.
Both families in one lounge room, chai in the good cups, and a yes that everyone had already assumed.
Mehndi on Thursday, nikah and baraat on Friday, walima on Saturday. Pace yourselves.
The celebration
Yellows and greens. Dholki, dancing, henna until late — wear something you can sit on the floor in.
The ceremony itself — short and solemn, then lunch for everyone. Modest dress and a head covering in the hall.
The groom's party arrives with drums at six. Dinner, then the farewell — bring tissues.
Faraz's family hosts. Jewel tones, a very long dinner, and the dance floor we have been promising.
On your real site, guests only see the events they're invited to. Times and venues become proper schedule fields in your builder.
