The Gold Coast's communities are newer and smaller than Brisbane's, spread through Southport, Labrador, Parkwood and the growth corridors toward Coomera — and tightly linked to Brisbane's community life an hour north, where the larger temples, churches and festival events sit.
Members here tend to search both cities at once, and the practical question in a Gold Coast–Brisbane match is usually commute and eventual suburb rather than anything cultural.
The Gold Coast's Indian community is one of its fastest-growing — hospitality, health and construction professionals through Southport, Parkwood and the northern growth corridor — with the larger Brisbane community's temples and festival calendar an hour up the motorway.
